Cubs

Cubs

Cubs take part in a wide range of games and activities designed to be interesting and challenging, with plenty of time spent outdoors. 2nd Wallingford Cubs learn various skills, such as map reading, fire lighting, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp. Camps are some of the most memorable events of the year.

The 2nd Wallingford Scout Group has two Cub Packs for boys and girls aged 8 to 10½ years, which meet at the 2nd Wallingford Scout Hut;

RAMA – which meets on Tuesday evenings from 5.45pm to 7.30pm

SEEONEE – which meets on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.30pm

USEFUL INFORMATION

Uniforms – All Cubs, once invested, wear a burgundy and white necker and a green sweatshirt. There is a Cub Polo Shirt that is good for wearing in the summer months or for activities. Uniform can either be bought from your local District Scout Shop which is open at the Scout Hut on certain dates or on-line at Scout Shops. Section Leaders will provide Cubs with a woggle to keep their necker together. It is not possible to buy individual neckers from the Scout Shop online.

Badges – For details on where to sew your Cub badges, please visit http://scouts.org.uk/media/81947/Cub-Scout-uniform.pdf

Subs / Membership Fees – You will receive email requests for subs via Online Scout Manager (OSM).

If you have not completed a Gift Aid form, please ask for one. Camps are charged separately. Cost however should not be a barrier to anyone taking part in Scouting and if this is an issue, you can speak to the local Section Leader in confidence.

Half of these funds are sent to the District and Central Headquarters to keep the Scouting infrastructure running.

With the sum that remains, the Scout Leaders provide badges once they have been earned and all the materials to make each Section night fun and interesting e.g. food, materials for experiments etc.
